Yongqun Gou

Yongqun GouYongqun Gou was born in Sichuan, P.R. China. She developed a strong passion for art in her earliest years, and has learned from several masters throughout her life. Florida PBS filmed a documentary about her and her work in 2006. Yongqun Gou's work is collected by discerning art collectors around the world, attracted by her fiery passion, originiality, and eye for detail. Gou uses long lasting inks extracted from natural materials. She paints on handmade paper and rice paper, which allows ink to soak through and become permanent. She also uses oils on canvas. Most of her paintings depict wind, rain, storms, or the movement of animals, flying or running.
